Safety Sitter Program

The Monterey County Regional Fire District offers a Safety Sitter class for kids between the ages of 10-15.    

The class will be held on a  Saturday  beginning at 9:00am and lasts about 4-5 hours.  Items suggested to be brought to the class are: water, a notepad with a pencil/pen & possibly a lunch.  The classes are held at the District’s Fire Stations. 

It is designed for new babysitters or kids who may be spending time home alone. Topics covered are: How to safely use a fire extinguisher, basic first aid, choking, hands only cpr and how to spot safety concerns.

If interested, please contact the program coordinator, Rick Cathey @ rcathey@mcrfd.org to schedule a date.  We need a minimum of 6 and maximum of 12 kids for this class to be held.
